Relationship Stages Psychology
Don't let your man walk away. Stand up and fight! by Mike Edmonds
Every relationship passes through many stages as it progresses. At first, you can't get your eyes away from each other, you can't stop thinking about the person you care about and wish to spend as much time with that person as possible. As the relationship moves on and time goes by, the passion and excitement of discovering the person beside you, the anxiousness of seeing him or her again progressively vanishes leaving other just as intense feelings take their place. Hopefully, after a long period of time with someone you are left with respect, trust and a sense of security that, for some people, compensate the lack of that adolescent passion.
However, what happens when one half of the couple looses interest or just doesn't feel the same way about the other anymore? That is when most people become desperate to make things the way they were and usually end up admitting that the relationship is over. But does it really have to end this way? It most certainly doesn't. Unfortunately, very few people know what to do in this kind of situations which can only mean that a sudden change of feelings is commonly seen as an irreparable flaw in the couple mechanism.
Although modern psychology studies reveal that both men and women are just as liable to loosing interest in a relationship, the common belief is that men are more likely to falling out of love or simply become bored and try to find someone else. This myth, although proven wrong in many ways, does have its seed of truth to it as more and more women complain about similar problems and ask for professional help. Frequently, the first sign that a man is loosing his interest in the woman beside him is that he neglects her more and more, no longer paying attention to her needs and wants. Also among the signs that should be seen as alarming we can mention the lack of involvement in the wellbeing of the couple life, less and less time spent together, as well as the absence of those little, nameless, unremembered gestures and acts he once used to do.
It is no rocket science to figure out where a relationship in which the above become too common is heading towards and yet 9 out of 10 women who experience this problem say that they never saw it coming and that the change was brutally quick. Especially for those women, many experts in psychology and life within the couple have joined forces in trying to make women understand that these situations are often inevitable and that all they can do is try to get their men back. Fortunately, thanks to numerous studies and years of behavior observations, women can now rely on many good books that deal with this subject in detail, offering real solutions, as well as tips for maintaining the interest in your man as high as on the first day you met.
All in all, a long term relationship is bound to have its downs but the secret to making it all work out in the end is not panicking and knowing that help can be found no matter how severe your problem may be as well as acknowledging that nothing can be conquered and kept without a fight. And a man's heart is no exception.
